The Great Migration in Africa is the most spectacular herd movement of animals on the planet and is classified as „One of the 7 Natural Wonders of Africa“ for a reason. Driven by their instinct for survival, each wildebeest travels over 1,000 kilometres along centuries-old migration routes in search of grazing and water, dragging other habitats in its wake. Every year between January and February, millions of animals give birth and raise their young in the Ngorongoro region and set off again from the southern Serengeti in Tanzania, north to the Masai Mara in Kenya and back. The journey is fraught with danger and only the strongest and hardiest survive the jaws of hungry predators - lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs and crocodiles.

Day 1 :

Sunday 29.11.2026 / Kilimanjaro - Ngorongoro Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Air tickets Sofia-Kilimanjaro-Sofia are outside the package price of the trip.

The Kilimanjaro meeting is taken as the start of the programme. Organized flights from Sofia with a guide depart on 28.11.2026!Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport в 02:35. Meet and transfer to Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha (50 km) for early breakfast and refreshments. Departure for Tarangire National Park for a first jeep safari and emotional encounters with Africa's wildlife. The park is rich in impressive numbers of oryx antelope - perhaps the most beautiful species of antelope, zebra and impala - and their pursuers - lions, hyenas and cheetahs. Lunch included and a stop at Lake Manyara. Departure for Ngorongoro National Park, with a visit on the way to the first-class Art Centre for traditional and modern souvenirs. Day 2 :

Monday 30.11.2026 / Ngorongoro Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, depart for a full-day jeep safari in the natural phenomenon of Ngorongoro - a crater of an extinct volcano, thousands of years ago. It is also the largest volcanic crater on Earth with a diameter of more than 20 km. The walls of the crater rise to a height of 600m, and its bottom today is a vast valley densely populated with wildlife. Jeeps take you to the crater rim for a short panoramic photo break, followed by a jeep descent into the heart of Ngorongoro.

The reserve is home to over 70 species of large mammals, including lions, elephants, hippos, antelopes, zebras, monkeys, warthogs, hyenas, etc. This is also one of the rare places where the black-maned lion is found.

Followed by a picnic lunch in the crater, near the lake, where you can laugh along with the herd of hippos, noisily expressing their contentment with the water and thus truly resembling human laughter, and a safari in the park.

Day 3 :

Tuesday 01.12.2026/ Ngorongoro - Serengeti Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early breakfast and departure to Serengeti (196 km) with a road safari to explore the flora and fauna of the region. Serengeti National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the largest park in Tanzania, founded in 1940. In the language of the Maasai, the indigenous people of these vast grassy savannahs, the park's name translates as ‘‘The Endless Plains““. To them, the Serengeti is "The place where the earth moves forever”. This is where the largest animal movement in the world, often referred to as the „Great Migration“, occurred. More than 1 million antelope, zebra and buffalo, followed by predators, make their way from the southern Serengeti north across the entire length of the „endless plains“ to the Maasai Mara in Kenya. In 2013, the Serengeti Great Migration was selected as one of the Great Natural Wonders of Africa, three of which are in Tanzania ( including Mount Kilimanjaro and the Ngorongoro Crater).

The Serengeti is also home to giraffes, monkeys, crocodiles, a very wide variety of birds, insects and reptiles.

Day 4 :

Wednesday 02.12.2026 / Serengeti - Zanzibar Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Breakfast. In this full day you will have the unique opportunity to take amazing photos of the inhabitants, including the „Five Big Ones“ of Africa (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo), to see how the predators stalk and kill their victims. How zebras and antelopes are saved with cunning and extraordinary agility.

At lunch - picnic in the wild nature. Continuation of the safariuntil late afternoon. Dinner at the lodge restaurant.

Day 5 :

Thursday 03.12.2026 / Serengeti - Zanzibar Breakfast, Dinner

Breakfast and transfer to the Serengeti's Seronera airstrip, with a roadside safari and last African wildlife memories. Direct flight to Zanzibar.

Clothing and luggage

Please note that due to the specifics of the vehicle on safaris (LandCruiser jeeps) , and the risk of damage to luggage, it is imperative that you carry a soft bag or duffel bag rather than a hard-sided suitcase.

A fabric suitcase is also a possible option. A bag with wheels is an optimal option !

The soft fabric of the luggage is important to be able to interfere

and seals the luggage compartment as tightly as possible.

Due to the specific climate and the wide range of temperatures during the day, you should provide a variety of clothing, but it is important not to overpack.

The optimal amount of clothing includes:

2-3 quick-drying T-shirts, lightweight fabric - short sleeves;

1-2 cotton t-shirts - short sleeved;

1 blouse, with UV protection, long sleeves, light fabric - (surfers stand - Decathlon shop); 1 light cotton long sleeved blouse;1-2 sports long summer trousers or summer jeans or leggings (light fabric);

1 bermudas , 1 shorts, 1 light leather/canvas jacket (spring-autumn) or jacket with wind protection; 1 thin cotton sweater; 1 closed athletic shoes - sneakers/ sneakers or light leather boots.

It is recommended that the colours of the clothes are neutral or camouflage colours - light brown, light grey, beige, khaki, white and similar. You should also provide beachwear: bermudas, beach shoes, flip-flops and sandals.

Lodges during the safari: all over Tanzania, lodges (hunting lodge type) do not have heating and/or cooling systems. Lodges are also not equipped with hair dryers in terms of energy consuming electrical systems in National Parks and Reserves.

The replacement of the above hotels and lodges with similar ones of the same category is not considered a significant change to the programme;
