A Buddhist Tale of Myanmar and a seaside holiday on the warm Bay of Bengal

12 Days

Stay tuned for new dates!

The tale begins 953 years ago in the lands of present-day Myanmar, when the non-Buddhist King declares war on the neighboring Buddhist King, defeats him, captures the entire Royal Court and takes them to the Captive. He doesn't kill them, he doesn't torture them, and all he asks of the Buddhist King is ... to build him a splendid temple to the glory of the capital Bagan.
This is the only condition to release all captives and return to their Kingdom, whichremains free but orphaned - without its beloved King. King Manoha “the Captive“, built in a few years a large and proper temple for the capital Baganand the promise is fulfilled. Manuha returns in triumph with the whole Royal Court, but before that has made his “sweet revenge“-leaves the traces of his captivity everywhere in the temple construction. King Manoha designed the inside of the temple so that anyone entering the temple would be feels “like captivity“ - giant, overwhelming Buddha statues and tiny open spaces.
This is how he himself felt during his captivity, but he managed to regain his freedom peacefully andin a good-natured way. That is why the Manoha Temple in Bagan is more than a Buddhist temple - it is a symbol of the peaceful, creative path that all Rulers of the World must travel before they “make history“. The Buddhist history of Myanmar is unique and morally instructive !
The contemporary narrative of Myanmar is no less intriguing.
In the land of modern Myanmar, the traditions of the Matriarchy are still alive today, so family virtues, family heritage and family business are passed on to the mother in the family. It is no coincidence that the executive branch is currently headed by a woman who won the Nobel Prize for Peace. Moreover, Myanmar is the only country in South Asia that has friendly relations simultaneously with India, with China and with the United States and in the last decade there has been a real boom of the modern tourism industry !
The penultimate section of “The Tale of Buddhist Myanmar“ we will be on the shores of the warm Bay of Bengal and enjoy the beautiful 5* beach resort Amazing Ngapali Resort.
But, the last part of the Buddhist Tale is absolutely definite:
